Which syllabus are the resources for?
Our resources are specifically designed for the AQA A-Level Accounting syllabus (7127). Our topic videos cover everything that you need to know for this specification. Please check your school/college's website, or with your teacher, if you're not sure which exam board is being used. The vast majority of schools and colleges in the UK use AQA.
If you're studying for the Cambridge International AS or A-Level Accounting exams (9706), then you'll be able to use the resources here too. There is a LOT of overlap of the specifications. Please compare the list of resources on the 'About' page with your syllabus, to identify whether or not you think our resources will be helpful. Please do make careful note of any areas that we don't cover (which may include and not be limited to: FIFO/AVCO inventory valuation, business acquisition and merger, data security in a computerised system, CVP analysis, batch costing, dissolution of a partnership, financial statements of clubs and societies, manufacturing accounts, specific IASs, overhead variances, accounting rate of return etc).
Can I subscribe for just one month?
Yes! Follow the instructions to subscribe to a Monthly Membership plan, remembering to use code DISCOUNT20 to get a 20% discounts from the price. Anytime during the membership month you can click on 'cancel' in the 'My Subscriptions' section, and this will end your membership exactly one month after it started, and you won't be charged again.
Do you pass on my personal information to anyone else?
Absolutely not. We only ask for your email address and phone number in case we need to contact you regarding your subscription. We do not ask for your home address or any other identifying information. We treat any information given to us in the strictest confidence and never pass on or sell your information. Personal information is deleted from our systems on a regular basis, in accordance with Data Protection requirements.
Something is wrong... some of the videos are showing as not available OR I keep getting logged out?
This is a rare, but luckily easy to fix problem. Here are the steps you can take to resolve the problem:
1. Log out of the website and close the browser. If you're using a laptop or PC, restart it
2. Remove the cookies from your browser. Instructions how to do this can be found using a simple Google search
3. Remove the history from your browser. Similar to above, you can check how to do this using Google
4. Check what browser you are using - Google Chrome is more reliable than Safari, for example
If none of these things work, please don't hesitate to get in touch so that we can help to sort out the problem as soon as possible
Can you predict what topics will come up in the exams?
Unfortunately not. Trying to guess what topics might come up might suggest you focus your revision on those topics. This is a dangerous thing to do. If other topics come up instead then you might not be properly prepared, and your marks could be affected. It's far better to prepare fully by revising all topics. In particular, we'd recommend that you practise doing 25 mark questions, as these are so heavily weighted in the exams. We have a set of unique 25 mark questions for subscribers, so look out for them.
Is it better to buy a Monthly Membership or Academic Year plan?
It depends how long you think you'll want to use the resources for. We sell a lot of Academic Year plans through the Autumn months, as it represents really good value for those students who want to use the resources for the rest of that academic year. If you're looking to buy a plan during the Spring months, you might be better off with a Monthly Membership plan. Calculate the cost of the Monthly Membership plan for the number of months you'll need it for, and then compare that to the cost of the Academic Year plan. Then just choose the cheapest!
